Drilling, 16 gauge and about .30 caliber, the property of prominent San Antonio, Texas, citizen F. M. Hicks, marked “Charles Hummel & Son, San Antonio, Texas” whose shop was on Commerce Street from about 1870-1920. From daughter’s estate, complete with notebook of information & provenance. In 1882 Hummel testified at the trial of Ben Thompson that he sold Thompson the .44-40 cartridges wherein the latter was charged for killing Jack Harris, owner of the Vaudeville Saloon. $4950
