Three Rivers Publishing Company, $69.95 plus $5 shipping each or call for wholesale discounts on case of 15 or more.  One of the few books available on cowboy spurs and their origins, this book has graphs, charts, illustrations and over 200 photos demonstrating the origin, manufacture, blacksmithing, distribution, rarity and value of cowboy bits and spurs and their makers from Spanish to Mexican, Texan to modern times.  Texas history as well as the history of the bottle opener type spur.

Southern Methodist University Press, now out of print, $100 plus $5 shipping, includes essays on archeology as anthropology, fauna found in Texas archeological sites, methodology, Spanish Colonial sites in Texas, and historical archeology in the state. Autographed by the author upon request.


Antique Mechanical Fans (1999)

Three Rivers Publishing Company, $200 plus $5 shipping, now out of print, this was only the second book printed on the subject of mechanical fans.  Hardback, 260 page latest green cover edition has sold out three previous editions, now highly desirable, containing over 800 illustrations gleaned from old electrical journals most often when the fans were new to the market, commencing in 1885.  This expose’ of ice fans, kerosene & alcohol fans, battery operated, twin motored gyroscopic fans, 360 degree roller coaster fans, vacuum & compressed air fans, oscillating, ceiling, column and table models and virtually every conceivable fan type will amaze any reader.  Autographed by the author upon request.

Hawkhill Press, large 9 ˝” X 12” coffee table format, $85 plus $5 shipping, profusely illustrated with over 700 color photographs of western (cowboy type) bits and spurs.  Has chapters on evolution of bits and spurs, the two basic types of bits and spurs, the Hispanic two-piece vs. Texas once-piece style construction (not just made in Texas), time-lines and short biographies of over 75 different makers and their marks, with stunning photographic examples allowing identification of makers.  Has become the “Bible” of spur collecting, a gorgeous book, soon to be OP.
